MPS Digital kill race Harness
This plug and play harness is based off the Original MPS plug and play harness for the digital kill but we decided to make a race version without a horn option or toggle!
Harness plugs into the MPS digital kill (1-0263-1) , in between coils and factory harness, electric over air valve , horn leads from factory harness, 1 ground, and a signal wire from the new relay adaptor!
We offer two different harnesses; the difference is the coil connection polarity. Suzuki has the positive (red) in cavity #1. Kawasaki has the positive (red) in cavity # 2. This is important because the harness uses the coils to power items in the harness. To find out which type you have if you don’t have a Suzuki or Kawasaki see the test procedure below. A test light is all you need to find out which cavity is coil positive power.
1) Clip the test light to the negative side of the battery.
2) Unplug all the coils. This is important to prevent back feeding through the coils while testing.
3) Probe coil connector cavity #1 and turn the key on. Make sure you probe as soon as you turn the key on as some bikes have the coil power on the fuel pump relay and it will go off after the fuel pump primes and back on again when the bike is cranked.
4) If the test light lights you will use the Suzuki harness P/N 1-0988. If it doesn’t light proceed to step #5.
5) Probe coil connector cavity #2 and turn the key on. Make sure you probe as soon as you turn the key on as some bikes have the coil power on the fuel pump relay and it will go off after the fuel pump primes and back on again when the bike is cranked.
6) If the test light lights you will use the Kawasaki harness P/N 1-0988-K
Once you have verified this all you have to do is PLUG the coil harness in between coils and the factory harness.
plug the male spades from relay box to the factory harness horn wires red to 12v and Ground to ground (you will need to check the factory harness wires with a volt meter or test light you will have a constant 12v or a constant ground and the other wire is triggered by the horn button) the blue wire goes to the MPS harness .
plug the kill box leads into the MPS digital kill
plug the 2 pin connector with green wires to electric over air valve we supplied a mating connector
install the ground lead to a good chassis ground or the battery.
follow the instructions with the digital kill for kill time configuration and you are ready to go!
